Retirees and beneficiaries: Have you returned your 2023 Certificate of Entitlement to the Fund?

31 October 2023

To continue receiving periodic benefits, retirees and beneficiaries have to send the Fund a proof of life annually, the “certificate of entitlement” (CE).

As at mid-October, around 9,000 retirees and beneficiaries have not returned their CE to the Fund and we have just sent them a second copy of the CE form by postal mail.

If you are one of those, as soon as you receive this CE form please send it back to the Fund signed by you and dated, to prevent the possible suspension of your UNJSPF benefit.

Alternatively, you can use one of the following ways to meet the annual proof of life requirement:

  1. Use the DCE app to provide your ‘proof of life’ in biometric format on your phone or tablet.
  2. Upload a scanned copy of your signed and dated CE in your Member Self-Service Portal - MSS, in the Document Upload tab.
  3. Drop the signed and dated paper CE form off (received by postal mail or printed from MSS) in person in New York or Geneva where dedicated UNJSPF mailboxes have been set up to receive pension documents.

More information is available on the dedicated CE and DCE pages.

Please submit any queries you may have via the official UNJSPF contact channels advertised on the Fund’s website under the Contact Us webpage.
