Retirees and beneficiaries: Have you returned your 2024 Certificate of Entitlement to the Fund?

31 October 2024

To continue receiving periodic benefits, retirees and beneficiaries have to send the Fund a proof of life annually, the “certificate of entitlement” (CE).

As at 26 October 2024, 8,616 retirees and beneficiaries had not yet returned their CE to the Fund. If you are one of those, you will be receiving a second copy of the CE form by postal mail. As soon as you receive this CE form, send it back to the Fund dated and signed by you to prevent the possible suspension of your UNJSPF benefit.

Alternatively, you can use one of the following ways to meet the annual proof of life requirement:

  1. Digital Certificate of Entitlement  (DCE) app: Use the DCE app to provide your ‘proof of life’ in biometric format on your phone or tablet.
  2. Paper-based CE: Retirees and beneficiaries not on the two-track can also download their CE in their Member Self-Service (MSS) under the DOCUMENTS tab. If you are paid on the two-track you must wait for the paper version sent by the Fund. All retirees and beneficiaries can submit the signed CE form in one of the following ways:
    • Electronic submission via MSS: After signing and dating the CE form, scan and upload it in PDF or JPEG format using the “Document Upload” feature in MSS. Once submitted, there’s no need to mail the original form. This option is available to everyone, even if you are paid on the Two-Track.
    • Mailing the original CE form: Sign, date, and mail the original form with your signature to the Fund at the addresses provided on the Contact Us page.
    • Dropping it off in person: Drop-boxes are available at the Fund’s New York and Geneva offices. Check the Contact Us page for details on their locations.

More information is available on the dedicated CE and DCE pages.

Please submit any queries you may have via the official UNJSPF contact channels advertised on the Fund’s website under the Contact Us webpage.
